Nursery this Sunday!! How is my baby old enough to go to nursery?? I'm so proud of you and the little boy you are becoming. You have temper tantrums several times an hour but in between that you are your same sweet self that you've always been.
Some things about you at 18 months:
*You love Chinese food, especially the soups. Anytime we've gotten takeout you've planted your hands around the bowl and kept your face in it until you were full.
*You've discovered the piano. You're at that age every child reaches eventually where you like to reach up on your tippy-toes and bang down on those bass notes.
*You've figured out the concept of knocking on doors - or banging on doors with both hands rather! You like to use this new talent to bother us when we're in the bathroom.
*You've decided you don't like being fed anymore, you only want to feed yourself. This makes mealtimes even messier than they were before. We're getting by okay right now because I let you feed yourself cleaner things and then I sneak the messy foods in your mouth while you're distracted.
*Your favorite game right now is running around blind. You'll pull a blanket over your head and just start moving. You think it's hilarious, until you inevitably run into something. A few days ago Daddy caught you going down the stairs with a blanket over your head. Terrifying.
*You've discovered that if you go down the stairs on your belly, you can positively fly down them. It scares me to death but you haven't crashed yet!
*You are very possessive of your toys. You pretend like you don't mind sharing, but as soon as someone else takes one of your toys you grab it right back.
*You're becoming more and more interested in the bathroom. Hopefully this is a sign that you're gearing up for pottytraining. Whenever you hear us go into the bathroom you like to run in and announce "pee-pee!" You also just figured out on your own how to flush and throw a tantrum whenever we catch you and pull you away. Yesterday was the first time I heard a flush followed by "uh-oh!" No idea if something got flushed or not. So. . .I guess we're at that stage now.
*You've learned how to beckon. You usually do it when you're trying to get a puppy to follow you. You'll hold your hand out and open and close your fist.
*New words: Ellie (A-E), apple ("appo"), sit, trash ("tass"), shoes ("sues")
